Preparing for your headshot session is simple, and a little preparation can go a long way toward creating natural, confident images you'll feel proud to use.
1. Take Care of Yourself
If possible, try to get good rest, stay active, and spend some time outdoors in the days leading up to your session. While every final image is professionally retouched, feeling rested and refreshed helps create photographs that look genuine and naturally you.
2. Plan Your Wardrobe Ahead of Time
A few days before your session, try on the clothing you plan to wear. Make sure everything fits comfortably, feels confident, and is ready to go—whether that means steaming, ironing, or dry cleaning. The goal is to arrive feeling prepared, not rushed.
3. Bring Inspiration
If there are photos of yourself that you’ve liked in the past, feel free to bring them along or show them during your session. This gives me a helpful starting point and allows me to understand the angles, expressions, and style that feel most authentic to you.
Most importantly—don’t worry about knowing how to pose.
My role is to guide you through the process and create a relaxed experience where your personality and professionalism can come through naturally. The best headshots happen when you feel comfortable being yourself.
